Our Time Together

Intentions

It is first and foremost my priority as your counsellor to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and accepted for who you are and where you are at.

The foundation for my work is from a trauma-informed, feminist, and culturally sensitive lens, and I celebrate all of the uniqueness that each individual brings. Our sessions are a safe space for you to navigate life with compassion, empathy, and humility.

I pull from both 'thinking' and 'doing' and 'feeling' and 'being' practices. The 'being' and 'feeling' practices include somatic and sensorimotor theories where we explore the physical and felt senses of the body. I also make use of mindfullness as a tool to connect to the body and the present moment.

The 'thinking' and 'doing' practices include Internal Family System, polyvagal theory, CBT and narrative therapy. With these we can explore the way your experiences have shaped how you show up and process the world around you.

We will work collaboratively to address what is bringing you into session and find the right tools that work for you.

Diversity and Inclusion

I welcome individuals from all backgrounds and experiences and celebrate the differences we all bring. Your lived experience and the ways that different parts of who you are intersect is important and meaningful.

It is my intention to continue to learn and educate myself and be an ally and advocate for marginalized communities.

In the spirit of respect, reciprocity, and truth, I honour and acknowledge my exploration and work as an uninvited guest that takes place on the Moh’kinsstis and the traditional Treaty 7 territory. I acknowledge and respect the oral practices of the Blackfoot confederacy: Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, as well as the Îyâxe Nakoda and Tsuut’ina nations. I acknowledge all Nations – Indigenous and non – who live, work and play on this land, and who honour and celebrate this territory.
